Job Overview

Cook at Wordsworth House, Lincoln LN1 3NQ, as part of Sodexo's team, providing an enhanced level of supervision, monitoring, and rehabilitation within the community.

Approved Premises (APs) contribute to the effective risk management of people released from prison.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, cook, and present meals to residents.
  • Follow recipes well and have a good experience in volume cooking.
  • Ensure routine day-to-day and specialized cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors, and storage areas.
  • Control waste regarding preparation and cooking.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, hygiene, and safety.
  • Manage and control all food, including receiving and checking stock, using equipment and materials correctly, and monitoring portion control.
  • Collect routine data and perform daily checks, including temperature control during production, preparation, service, and storage.
  • Report accidents, near misses, damage, or breakages to the Catering supervisor.
  • Ensure the Catering Department is opened and closed at the required times and secured when not in use.
  • Undertake other tasks appropriate to the duties and responsibilities of the post.
  • Attend relevant training sessions to perform the role effectively.
