Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Data Specialist to support The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust in providing accurate and reliable clinically coded data for all inpatient and outpatient activity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background, with a minimum of A-level standard or equivalent relevant passes. Previous NHS experience and a basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology are highly desirable.

As a Clinical Data Specialist, you will be responsible for extracting relevant information from case notes and source documents to enable coding of clinical activity. You will critically analyze data from all available sources, investigate and interpret information to determine the appropriate coding translation, and apply national and international rules and conventions to agreed standards.
