Belcan is seeking a highly skilled Principal Communication Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define Requirements and Ensure Compatibility: Develop and integrate technical parameters, ensuring seamless interfaces between systems.
  • Support Proposal Reviews and Trade Studies: Lead analyses to optimize system architecture, ensuring mission success.
  • Develop Space System Requirements and Interfaces: Create and manage system requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Lead System Architecture Concepts and Sub-System Design: Develop and implement space architecture concepts, sub-system design, and payload design.
  • Conduct Analyses for Affordability, Safety, and Reliability: Ensure mission success through thorough analyses and risk reduction.
  • Develop System Engineering Processes: Establish and maintain requirements management and traceability processes.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 9+ years of experience in space communications.
  • Strong background in communication theory and RF concepts.
  • Experience with FPGA, modern vector processing engines, and satellite-communications standards.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++.
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
  • Ability to manage large projects and work well under pressure.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
