Out of School Club Playworker

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Playworker to join our Out of School Club team at Kings Priory School. As a Playworker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality childcare and education to children aged [insert age range].

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation of the Out of School Club, ensuring the provision is consistent, effective, and of a high standard.
  • Build trusting relationships with children and provide positive feedback to parents and carers.
  • Maintain high standards of care and follow policies and procedures in relation to safeguarding.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive activities, including sport, dance, and creative pursuits.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the smooth operation of the Out of School Club.

Working Hours

The successful candidate will be required to work during the opening times of the holiday club, which are 8:00am - 6:00pm. This will include working at least 2 days a week during the following holiday periods:

  • February half term
  • May half term
  • October half term
  • Second week of the Easter holidays
  • 4 weeks during the summer holidays

Annual Leave

The role includes 7 weeks annual leave per year, which will be taken during the school holidays. This will include:

  • 2 weeks at Christmas
  • 1 week at Easter
  • 3 weeks during the summer
  • 1 week during the October break

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of working with children in a play-based setting
  • Knowledge of good practice in relation to working with children
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with children and parents
  • High standards of care and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
