As a key member of the clinical genomics department, the Genomics Education and Training Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing education and training provisions for all roles within the department. This will include collaborating with operational managers and scientist training leads to organise, deliver, and maintain educational and training programmes, as well as ensuring staff training documentation is completed and recorded in accordance with ISO15189 standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and monitor education and training programs
  2. Organise and schedule training seminars on key genomic medicine topics
  3. Ensure the departmental training policy is regularly reviewed
  4. Facilitate the review or development of technical, analytical, and administrative training diaries and competency documents

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • BSc degree in Biological Sciences/Genetics

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in education or training, or equivalent experience
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant scientific subject

Key Skills:

  • Detailed knowledge of training delivery in a diagnostic laboratory
  • Knowledge of education and training theory and practice
  • Experience of training others and supervising trainees

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
