About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Cardiology Ward, ensuring the provision of safe, high-quality, and individualized care to patients. They will also be responsible for the line management and development of the ward staff.
Main Responsibilities- Management: Line management and supervision of all grades of staff within the sphere of authority, allocation of workload, and reporting deficiencies to the Ward Leader as appropriate.
- Multidisciplinary Liaison: Liaison with all disciplines and departments that interface with care delivery, encouraging good working relationships between all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Communications: Assisting in the development of communication systems and maintaining existing effective systems within the clinical area.
- Clinical Governance: Assisting the Ward Leader in setting, maintaining, and monitoring standards of care, actively supporting the development and implementation of a written nursing philosophy.
- Education & Training: Participating in ongoing personal professional development programs and in the teaching and development of all grades of staff.
- Research & Audit: Demonstrating a commitment to the development of research skills, assisting in the application and evaluation of current research findings.
- Experience in managing a ward or department in a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of clinical governance and quality improvement principles.
- Ability to participate in ongoing professional development.
