Supportive Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Supportive Assistant to join our team at Penderels Trust. As a Supportive Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with autism to develop their skills and maximise their independence.
The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, follow instructions accurately, and provide non-judgemental emotional support. Previous caring experience is essential, and a lively personality is a must.
The successful candidate will be required to support the individual to attend appointments, get to and from school/work/college/social activities, and promote and encourage friendships and independence. You will also be responsible for developing a good and trusting one-to-one working relationship.
The individual's needs may vary from day to day, and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
We are looking for someone who is honest, reliable, trustworthy, and punctual, with good listening skills and the ability to work flexibly, adapting to the individual's needs on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities- Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary
- Support to get to and from school/work/college/social activities
- Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities
- Promote and encourage friendships and independence
- Develop a good and trusting one-to-one working relationship
- Previous caring experience is essential
