TBM Shift Manager for SCS Tunnels & Shafts

As a key member of our tunneling team, you will play a significant role in delivering our underground construction projects. Your responsibilities will include managing tunneling works on site, ensuring timely and efficient completion of setting-out and quality control procedures, and communicating effectively with works managers, foremen, gangers, operatives, and sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance to inform and direct project and programme delivery.
  • Identify risk and opportunity, and advise the Sub Agents accordingly.
  • Ensure all setting-out and quality control procedures are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively with works managers, foremen, gangers, operatives, and sub-contractors.
  • Prepare and periodically review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Plans and Procedures for the construction works.
  • Work with the construction and quality teams to complete Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's) for the control of the works.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes/variations, subcontractors' attendance, and records of work-related discussions with client/designer/RE/project team.
  • Understand and implement the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes, and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations.

Requirements:

  • CSCS card.
  • Experience working as a shift manager in a tunnelling environment.
  • IOSH or SMSTS desired, SSSTS minimum.
  • Tunnel Safety Training Scheme (TSTS).
