Job Title: Wordings Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Wordings Specialist to join our Global Wordings team in London. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the underwriting business across all product lines, covering a wide range of complex risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analysis and Drafting: Analyze and review existing and new insurance products, including competitors' products, to deliver timely and commercial solutions to any issues raised.
  2. Product Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to build new insurance products from scratch or refine existing ones, driving innovation for the AXA XL brand.
  3. Teamwork and Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the Wordings team, Legal Department, and other departments to deliver team goals, service delivery requirements, and internal projects.
  4. Training and Development: Share best practice solutions across the business, deliver presentations to underwriting teams, and provide pre-bind and post-bind technical wording advice.
  5. Supporting Underwriters: Assist underwriters in achieving underwriting discipline through coverage analysis and offering robust and clear wording solutions, highlighting potential coverage exposure to emerging risks.

Requirements:

  1. Insurance Clause Analysis: Ability to interpret and analyze insurance clause and/or wording requests, drafting clear and robust insurance clauses and wordings from scratch.
  2. Confidence and Communication: Confidence to deliver your own wording solutions to underwriters, brokers, and peers in writing and face-to-face.
  3. Business Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of business, legal, and compliance needs for individual insurance classes.
  4. Workload Management: Ability to plan and self-manage workload, work under pressure, and adhere to deadlines and competing priorities.
  5. Independence and Judgement: Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and exercise independent judgement.
  6. Wordings Experience: Demonstrable wordings experience and proven record of working in-depth with insurance wordings.

Desired Skills:

  1. Standard Clauses: In-depth understanding of standard clauses used in the market and class-specific wording structures.
