About the Role
The Project Temporary Works Designer will be responsible for designing safe, practical, and economic temporary works solutions for various projects, including Thames Tideway, East West Rail, and Whiteleys. This role will involve working closely with project teams to deliver temporary works solutions that meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design temporary works solutions for various projects, including formwork, falsework, access scaffolding, and temporary concrete and steel structures.
- Work with specialist CAD teams to develop designs and models.
- Coordinate design work with a wide range of suppliers and designers.
- Collaborate with construction teams to understand the practicalities of erection, use, and dismantle of temporary works.
- Manage consultants, sub-consultants, suppliers, and sub-contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of temporary works solutions.
Requirements
- BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with BS 5975.
- Experience in the design of formwork, falsework, and access scaffolding.
- Experience in the design of bespoke shutters (steel or timber).
- Experience with codes of practice for concrete and steel work design (EN & BS codes).
- Chartered or working towards chartership.
- Literacy in Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Detailed knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
