About the Role

We're seeking a talented and motivated Pastry Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Coworth Park Hotel. As a key member of our Pastry team, you'll assist the Head Pastry Chef in running the kitchens, ensuring the highest standards of service and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Pastry Chef in menu development and implementation
  • Lead and motivate the Pastry team to achieve exceptional results
  • Manage workload and resource distribution to ensure seamless service
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, identifying areas for improvement
  • Act as a deputy to the Head Pastry Chef, taking charge of the kitchen when needed
  • Produce and deliver high-quality food, ensuring operational excellence
  • Plan and execute daily kitchen operations, including banqueting, breakfast, room service, and staff food
  • Control operating costs within the agreed budgets, ordering food and supplies as needed
  • Conduct quality checks on stock, produce, and dishes, providing training and guidance to the team
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end hotel or restaurant
  • Knowledge of chocolate and sugar work, bread making, and relevant qualifications
  • Experience in menu development, ordering systems, and cost processes
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in ordering systems and cost processes
  • Understanding of COSHH and HACCP procedures
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team
  • Flexibility to respond to business needs and client requirements
