Unlock Your Potential in Communications and Events
We are seeking a bright and enthusiastic student to join our Communications and Events team at BMW Group. As a placement student, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About the Role
This is a 13-month placement opportunity that will provide you with hands-on experience in communications and events. You will work closely with our communications manager and the wider UK communications team to generate plant information and story ideas to support our engagement and dialogue with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the communications manager in generating plant information and story ideas
- Work on creating and pushing out engaging content to employees across various media channels
- Take ownership of managing some of these channels
- Support the planning, organisation and execution of events and visits for various audiences
- Contribute to the further development of how we do things, including rolling out new initiatives and improving or introducing new communications channels
- Support the department in keeping on top of our annual planner, collating communication measures for reporting, photo archiving, escorting photographers and film crews, updating plant information and a little admin here and there to keep everything in good shape
Requirements
- Studying towards a Bachelor's degree in Business, Media, Communications, Marketing, Events Management, English, Social Sciences or another related field and on track to receive a 2:2 or above
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated passion for engaging with and building relationships with people
- Flexibility with working hours and potential travel to other BMW Group sites in the UK (full driving licence required) to support various projects and events
- Awareness and interest in current affairs with an eye for what makes an attractive potential story
- Basic photography and photo editing skills- further digital media skills such as graphic design, film and other forms of media would enhance your application
- Ambition to comfortably use and learn about a range of IT software and content management systems
- Resilient with excellent organisation skills and a 'hands on', proactive approach

- A competitive annual salary of £24,950, 26 days holiday per annum (pro rata to your contract) and an attractive pension scheme
- Contracted working hours are 39 hours a week, with a half day on a Friday, helping you develop a fulfilling work-life balance
