Job Description

Job Title: Strategic Planning Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Planning Director to join our team at Gleeson Recruitment Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading our planning team and ensuring that all aspects of production planning are aligned with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning team to ensure that all line planning is executed in line with business standards and behaviors.
  • Develop and implement production planning processes to ensure financial business plan targets are met for operations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to develop the manufacturing strategy in line with business plan requirements.
  • Work with finance to develop operations budget and forecasting, ensuring that factory planning works within targets set out by the business.
  • Lead factory planning to ensure that all aspects of operations are operating at the most cost-effective solution by setting and agreeing daily throughput rates.
  • Collaborate with demand planners to ensure that all SOA (amendments) processes are planned correctly to avoid downtime.
  • Work with quality teams to ensure that MPS plans fit in and align with quality lead times and constraints.
  • Liaise with subcontract manufacturers to ensure that build plans align with internal build plans and with PTS plans.
  • Develop and maintain capacity tracking for all operations within manufacturing and logistics.
  • Work with manufacturing engineering and launch teams to ensure that launch planning is built into production plans.
  • Develop and maintain operations status reporting using the latest business intelligence toolset.
  • Own the planning processes and planning data within the company ERP system.
  • Ensure the standardization of core processes and that all data is held on the department's SharePoint.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience across supply chain functional areas and demonstrated ability to understand and manage complex supply chains.
  • Deep understanding of planning processes and materials management.
  • Experience in automotive planning.
  • Management of a team.
  • Experience in successfully liaising and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate at different levels of the business.
  • Ability to communicate and summarize complex information.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or STEM subject.
  • Microsoft Excel skills.
