About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead UI Artist to join our team and contribute to the development of our upcoming game, Off The Grid. As a key member of our UI Art team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality UI elements, working closely with our Director of UI and other team members to ensure seamless integration and a cohesive player experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the UI Art team and oversee the creation of high-quality UI elements, including design systems, game menus, HUD elements, iconography, and UI materials.
  • Collaborate with UX Design, Tech Design, and Code teams to ensure a cohesive and engaging player experience.
  • Develop and implement design systems, game menus, and HUD elements that meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
  • Work closely with the UI Art Directors to ensure alignment with the company's overall design vision and strategy.
  • Contribute to the development of the game's UI, including the creation of UI animations, motion design, and other visual effects.
  • Flag new and emerging design patterns or systems from the product team to UI Art Directors.
  • Collaborate with the greater UX/UI Department to ensure consistency and quality is maintained across the product.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience designing and implementing in-game UI, working in agile environments, and on multi-disciplinary teams.
  • 2-4 years of experience managing a team of UI Artists.
  • Extensive experience with 2D art and authoring tools like Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and AfterEffects.
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interactive Media, or equivalent work experience as a User Interface artist.
  • Experience implementing AAA quality UI Art in Unreal Engine or other comparable game engines.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for Motion Design and animation.
  • Experience with building shaders and materials in Unreal Engine or comparable game engines a bonus.
  • Experience in creating 3D game assets in software a bonus.
