Occupational Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Occupational Therapist to join our team at a Secondary SEN school in Lambeth. As an Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team and provide comprehensive assessments and evidence-based therapy to young people with a range of special, additional needs.

The Role:
  • Working as an Occupational Therapist within the school
  • Plan and regularly review treatment programmes
  • Attend and actively contribute to Case review meetings
  • Collaborative working with Teachers and staff across the school
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team under the lead clinical psychologist, speech and language therapists, social workers and other SEN Specialists
The Occupational Therapist:
  • MUST hold relevant sector recognised full qualification and be HCPC registered
  • Band 5 / 6 Occupational Therapist
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Sensory Integration Training is highly desirable
  • Understanding of young people with Autism and Speech, Language and Communication difficulties
  • A flexible and creative approach to treatment and therapies
  • A caring and committed team player
  • Experience of working with similar caseloads with varying degrees of complexity
The School:
  • Secondary SEN school pupils aged 11 - 19 years of age
  • Whole school therapeutic approach
  • On-site therapists
  • Friendly, welcoming, dedicated, and hardworking team throughout the school
  • Professional development and progression is encouraged and supported

The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
