Education and Training Role

The Education and Training Department at the NHS is seeking a skilled professional to support the development of staff and the delivery of training programs.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Education and Development lead to ensure the effective operation of the training function, responding to the needs of the team and stakeholders to meet organizational requirements.

The role involves providing administrative support to subject matter experts, identifying training opportunities, and liaising with external stakeholders, including Integrated Care Boards and regional NHSE colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages and NHS policy/procedures.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Provide administrative support for subject matter experts to deliver the Mental Health Education program.
  2. Identify opportunities for training and liaise with budget holders.
  3. Liaise with external Integrated Care Boards and regional NHSE colleagues regarding the Mental Health Education program.
  4. Liaise with education providers to book courses, raise purchase orders, pay invoices, and maintain records.
  5. Liaise with clinical and operational managers to keep them informed of training opportunities and support them to facilitate their teams to access training and supervision.
  6. Create and manage intranet pages and online booking systems/forms.
  7. Support training delegates to keep them informed and support them to access training sessions and materials.
  8. Maintain an audit trail of training activity, including ensuring attendance at training sessions is recorded in ESR.
  9. Maintain records to ensure an accurate audit trail of activities, including course attendance, psychotherapy training experience, and number of education hours completed.
  10. Provide ESR data for stakeholders on training.
  11. Ensure that training applications are managed in accordance with trust policy.
  12. Maintain records of the Multi Professional Approved Clinician (MPAC) training program.

Person Specification

  • Diploma or equivalent secretarial experience, advanced level NVQ 3 Business Admin, or equivalent experience NVQ 2 Customer Service or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, paying attention to detail, and working innovatively.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages and NHS policy/procedures.
