About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Career Teachers. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and therapy teams to ensure each child progresses towards their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with additional needs in a SEN school setting
  • Work alongside the class teacher and therapy teams to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Assist with personal care, hoisting, medication, and feeding as required
  • Participate in all tasks and be willing to learn and adapt to new situations
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of the requirements to support pupils with additional needs
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN is advantageous
  • Training in PECS, Makaton, manual handling, and hoisting is desired but not essential
  • Adaptability, motivation, and the ability to take initiative are essential
