Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Orthotist to join our team as a Clinical Lead, reporting to the Regional Clinical and Operational Lead (RCOL). As a key member of the senior clinical team, you will have direct line management responsibility, providing mentoring support to less experienced orthotists, graduates, and students, as well as guiding and supporting more experienced staff to continue their professional development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the clinical team meets targets and is engaged with company objectives.
  • Attend resource meetings with RCOL, assist as a point of contact when RCOL is on leave.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care for all patients and the smooth running of the OCS services.
  • Support, develop, and mentor less experienced orthotists, graduates, and students. Help coordinate and contribute to in-service training sessions.
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs).
  • Be a direct clinical escalation point to the NHS management.
  • Report on regional clinical activities to the senior management team, advising any relevant issues to RCOL.
  • Advance the delivery of the orthotics service by embracing evidence-based medicine and the result of clinical audit in line with the requirements of clinical governance.
  • Support and contribute to Opcare services by contributing to our national care pathways, protocols, and leadership on orthotics.
  • Work with the Regional Clinical and Operational Lead and production teams to provide excellent orthotic devices as prescribed.
  • Lead on the use of newer technology and innovations systems and 3D print, to improve service delivery.
  • Share your knowledge and experience with junior colleagues and offer mentorship to graduates.
Qualifications

Either:

  • BSc Prosthetics and Orthotics
  • Certified Orthotist
  • HND Orthotics

Must also be fully HCPC Registered.
