Job Title: Social Work Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Work Assistant to join our team at Kent County Council. As a key member of our Family Time Service, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and families in North Kent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and supervise Family Time sessions between children and their families, ensuring a positive and safe experience for all.
  • Assist with transport arrangements, including transporting children as required, to support the implementation of care plans.
  • Accurately document sessions for later use in assessments and care planning.
  • Provide support to service users, including producing reports and case notes, collating information, and liaising with social workers and other professionals.
  • Develop good working relationships with families, foster carers, and other professionals, utilizing excellent interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with service users.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel throughout Kent and beyond, with a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
