About the Role

Aker Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Principal Structural Designer to join our New Build team in the UK. As a key member of our structural engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for structural components on onshore and offshore renewables and oil & gas projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality design for structural components, including preparation, maintenance, and checking of 3D models and discipline drawings.
  • Develop and maintain CAD standard practices, ensuring consistency and efficiency in design processes.
  • Manage coordination between design disciplines and third-party vendors, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Develop and implement design solutions that meet Aker Solutions' values and contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in the offshore oil & gas/renewable energy sector or onshore oil & gas/carbon capture sector, with a focus on offshore projects.
  • Track record in Principal Structural Designer roles from a minimum of one FEED, E&P, or EPC project.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (E3D, PDMS, or Navisworks) and 2D drawing tools (Autocad and/or Microstation).
  • Good working knowledge of relevant structural design codes and standards.
  • Experience in multiple office execution/workshare and managing high-value execution centers.
