Financial Controller - Live Events

Handle Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our client, a leading live entertainment company. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and sign-off the monthly UK management accounts
  • Manage a team of three direct reports, including a UK Finance Manager, Transactions Manager, and Settlements Controller
  • Oversee the UK Balance Sheet, ensuring regular review and holding the team accountable
  • Manage the UK statutory audit process, playing a key role in managing the relationship with auditors and ensuring a smooth audit process
  • Identify financial control and process improvements, implementing changes to strengthen the control environment and increase efficiency
  • Embrace the company's change agenda, advocating for change and driving process improvements
  • Assist in identifying operational and technical problems, making suggestions for amendments to working practices and policies
  • Support the team with system change and provide ad-hoc reporting and queries
Requirements:
  • Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Previous Financial Controller role in a large company
  • Practical experience of month-end reconciliations and problem-solving
  • Prior experience of managing external audit
  • Detail and control-oriented
  • Excellent Excel and IT skills
  • Strong intellect combined with attention to detail, well-organized, process-driven, and delivery-focused
Desirable:
  • Previous experience of system change
  • Experience of Navision, Dynamics 365, and Cognos Controller
