**Supportive Care Worker Role**

At North Lakes Children's Services, we are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Supportive Care Worker. This rewarding role involves working with young people in our residential care settings, providing emotional support and guidance to help them develop essential life skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting daily routines, including personal care, meals, and activities
  • Developing life skills and promoting independence
  • Attending medical and other appointments
  • Working with activity planners to plan engaging activities
  • Completing day sheets and working with young people on their targets
  • Assisting with daily paperwork and tasks
  • Completing budgeting requirements
  • Conducting daily room checks and housecleaning tasks
  • Preparing meals and maintaining kitchen hygiene and laundry duties
  • Completing specific checks, such as COSHH and Fire Checks
  • Liaising with families and building relationships to ensure smooth communication

Requirements:

  • Flexibility in availability, including potential sleep-in nights and varied start times
  • Understanding of issues facing young people in care
  • Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Will to learn and work as part of a small team
  • Ability to undergo a DBS check at enhanced level
