Residential Childcare Support Professional

North Lakes Children's Services is seeking a committed and passionate Support Professional to work in our residential care settings. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to our young people, promoting their well-being and helping them to achieve their full potential.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting the daily routines of our young people, including personal care, meal times, and activities
  • Assisting with the development of life skills and independence, including room cleaning and household chores
  • Attending medical and other appointments with our young people
  • Supporting the implementation of activity plans and contributing to the completion of day sheets and targets
  • Completing handover documents and daily paperwork, including budgeting and room checks
  • Preparing and cooking meals, and maintaining kitchen hygiene and laundry duties
  • Liaising with families and building relationships to support our young people's needs

Requirements

  • Flexible availability, including sleep-in nights and shift work
  • Understanding of the issues facing young people in care
  • Hold a relevant qualification, such as a Residential Childcare Diploma or NVQ in Health and Social Care
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check at enhanced level
