Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dermatology Nurse to join our Community Dermatology Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with skin conditions, working closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist dermatology nursing care in a variety of settings, including community clinics and hospitals.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the team to achieve objectives and prioritize workload.
  • Conduct holistic assessments and develop care plans in accordance with guidelines and protocols.
  • Prescribe medications and request changes in medication as needed, working in partnership with GPs and consultants.
  • Make referrals to other healthcare professionals and agencies as required, maintaining effective communication and feedback.
  • Ensure effective delivery of service and adherence to all policies and procedures.

Person Specification
  • Registered General Nurse with a strong background in dermatology or a willingness to develop skills in this area.
  • Advanced communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, written, and electronic communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of developments in dermatology services in primary care nationally and locally.
