At Davies, we are seeking a skilled Fraud File Handler Assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have an established interest in law, either through further education or experience within a process-driven legal environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Procedural Drafting: The candidate will be responsible for drafting court documents and understanding of processes.
  • Investigations: The candidate will assist in investigations, including evidential reviews and assessments, and liaising with policyholders and witnesses.
  • Resolution: The candidate will be responsible for negotiating third-party costs in accordance with the CPR and drafting of appropriate settlement documentation.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Organize and Prioritize Tasks: The candidate will be able to organize and prioritize tasks using initiative and re-prioritize and delegate effectively when required.
  • Analyse Evidence: The candidate will be able to analyze evidence and demonstrate good literacy and IT skills.
  • Work Effectively: The candidate will be able to work effectively within the Keoghs Shared Behaviour framework and demonstrate good team-working skills.

Key Accountabilities

The work handled by the File Handler Assistant will be determined by the caseload of the File Handlers that they are aligned with, these include but are not limited to:

  • Litigation
  • Procedural drafting
  • Costs Schedules
  • Investigations
  • Evidential reviews and assessments
  • Liaising with policyholders and witnesses
  • Proofing of key witnesses
  • Working with counsel
  • Instructing experts – internal and/or external suppliers
  • Resolution
  • Negotiation of third-party costs in accordance with the CPR
  • Drafting of appropriate settlement documentation

Responsibilities in case management include:

  • Client Excellence: The candidate will assist on files in accordance with agreed client guidelines and ensure maximum client satisfaction on each case.
  • Technical Excellence: The candidate will liaise with all appropriate involvements on the case in order to carry out agreed investigations to meet the set strategy and ensure all file and investigative deadlines are complied with.
  • Financial Excellence: The candidate will be commercially aware, working in an efficient and effective manner, and achieving financial targets.
  • Cultural Excellence: The candidate will adhere to the Keoghs Values and work effectively within the Keoghs Shared Behaviour framework.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Established interest in law either through further education (e.g. LPC or ILEX) or experience within a process-driven legal environment
  • Experience of drafting court documents and understanding of processes
  • Good telephone and communication skills with people at all levels inside and outside the business
  • An ability to organize and prioritize tasks using initiative
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to re-prioritize and delegate effectively when required
  • An ability to analyse evidence
  • Good Literacy and IT skills
  • Good team worker with the flexibility to do what is required to get a result and ensure client service levels are met
  • Ability to work effectively within the Keoghs Shared Behaviour framework
