Priory Hospital Norwich is a 34-bedded acute mental health hospital situated in the town of Attleborough. Our hospital ensures that we put our patients at the centre of everything we do.


Job Title: Mental Health Officer

The role of Mental Health Act Administrator is to be part of an excellent multidisciplinary team to support our patients. This position requires a highly organized individual with excellent administrative skills and a strong understanding of mental health legislation.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Administration of the Mental Health Act: Manage the efficient administration of the MHA within the area of responsibility and prioritise workload to meet constantly changing demands.
  2. MHA Training and Audit: Be an active member of the Healthcare MHA administrators group, MHA training sub-group and MHA audit sub-group.
  3. Legal File Management: Create and maintain individual legal files for service users subject to the Act, safeguarding confidential information and statutory documentation.
  4. Data Management: Maintain accurate data in relation to the use of the Act in order to provide statistical information for national and local reporting processes.
