UI Technical Artist Leader

Wargaming is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Artist to lead the creation and improvement of our art production pipeline for an unannounced AAA free-to-play game. This role involves guiding the UI team in the development of innovative tools and pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with other departments.

About the Role

This position reports directly to the UI Director and requires exceptional communication skills to champion the needs and requirements of the art team across every discipline.

Responsibilities
  • Create and enforce the use of art production tools and pipelines across every UI discipline
  • Question tech requests before they are actioned to ensure that they are asking for the right thing
  • Work with the Tech, Tools, and Graphics disciplines to ensure that new requests are appropriately assigned to the right people
  • Push the bar on quality for all UI production tools and innovate with new tooling
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience with Unreal Engine 4 (or above) with at least one full production cycle behind you
  • Strong experience developing UI prototypes using Blueprints
  • Strong ability to work with both 2D and 3D assets
  • Hands on experience with shaders, lighting and VFX
  • Working knowledge of asset optimisation and rendering
  • Working knowledge of UMG
  • Expert knowledge of art pipeline and infrastructure development using Python
