Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse/Clinical Practitioner to join our General Practice in Crawley, West Sussex. This is a highly supportive practice with a long-standing team including GPs, Paramedic Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.

This role requires the ability to assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients who attend surgery with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions relating to minor illness. The post holder will use advanced clinical skills to provide education to patients, promoting self-care and empowering them to make informed choices about their treatment.

Main Responsibilities
  1. To assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients with minor illnesses.
  2. To undertake home visits primarily for acute conditions as assessed by the duty doctor, within the boundaries of professional qualifications.
  3. To use advanced clinical skills to provide patient education and promote self-care.

The successful candidate will have experience working in an urgent care/emergency setting, primary care setting, and be able to work within a team to provide the best outcome for the patient. They must have excellent written and verbal English skills, ability to make autonomous decisions, assess, minimise, and manage risks, and stay calm under pressure.

A flexible attitude to work is essential, with the willingness to work later/earlier as duties/events require. The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum.

Requirements
  • Qualified Advanced Nurse/Clinical Practitioner with evidence of appropriate knowledge base.
  • Experience of working in urgent care/emergency settings and primary care settings.
  • Ability to work within a team to provide the best outcome for the patient.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Ability to make autonomous decisions and assess, minimise, and manage risks.
