Job Summary

The Deputy Houseparent will play a vital role in providing a strong support network for our pupils, working closely with the Houseparent and other members of the residential team to ensure the smooth running of the boarding house.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and motivate staff to provide exceptional pastoral care to pupils
  • Mentor and support pupils in the house, promoting their wellbeing and academic success
  • Deputise for the Houseparent in their absence, taking charge of the house and its operations
  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the house, including coordinating work schedules and delegating tasks to the team
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Ability to supervise, encourage and motivate staff and pupils
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Academic background desirable

Working Arrangements

The Deputy Houseparent will work a 35-week contract, including up to 4 overnight duties per week. The role will involve a shift pattern including days, evenings and weekends.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role will be £29,208 to £31,669 per annum, including 5.6 weeks statutory holiday pay. In addition, an allowance of approximately £5,400 per annum will be paid for four overnight duties per term time week.
