Data Center Operations Specialist

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is expanding its infrastructure operations team, seeking a Data Center Operations Specialist to join its growing team. This role involves ensuring the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the data center operate at optimal levels, maintaining first-class customer service to internal teams and groups. The successful candidate will assist in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment, including generators, switchgear, UPS systems, and building automation systems. This is a 20-week internship starting in January and February 2025.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment
  2. Assist in root cause analysis of equipment failures
  3. Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
  4. Take daily operational readings of equipment
  5. Work a 12-hour shift (rotating 3 to 4 day work weeks)
Physical Requirements:
  1. Walk job sites in uneven terrain
  2. Work at heights and from ladders
  3. Regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unassisted
  4. Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment
Qualifications:


In pursuit of or obtained Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as mechanical/electrical engineering OR
In pursuit of or obtained certification from a Technical/Trade school program (HVAC, electrician, facilities maintenance, or similar)
English language proficiency, both written and verbal
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying strong time management skills
