Role Overview

The Commercial Director will be responsible for developing and executing the company's commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, and enhancing profitability. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the latent defect insurance market, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in underwriting and commercial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Commercial Division within MD Group, comprising Technical Underwriting, Quote Generation Unit, and Marketing functions.
  • Develop and implement the strategic direction and focus of the division with respect to markets, business development, and customer service.
  • Work closely with the Operations Director to monitor product performance and enhancement opportunities.
  • Coordinate strategic growth, pricing, and retention initiatives to meet field capacity and appetite.
  • Champion diversity, talent, and career development for team members as a great and inclusive place to work.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in previous roles with extensive Commercial, Underwriting, and pricing experience.
  • Ability to lead the development and interpretation of numerical trends and analysis.
  • Awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the identified insurance sector.
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework and expectations relevant to the Commercial Director role.
  • Strong financial acumen.
