Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Electro-Optics Modelling Engineer to join our Electronic Warfare Support Group (EWOS). As a Senior Countermeasure Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing in-house countermeasure simulation software tool, CounterWorX, modelling physical interactions and phenomena across dynamic simulations. You will also work with our software development team and assurance process for releasable software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse, design, model, and verify countermeasure techniques across various real-world scenarios.
  • Optimise countermeasure parameters for best performance against specific threats.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Detailed understanding of Physics/Mathematical principles at degree-level.
  • Experience with at least one of Electro-Optics (EO), Infra-Red (IR), or Radio Frequency (RF) sensors and systems within a defence setting.
  • Programming experience with MATLAB, Simulink, or Python.
  • Experience developing deterministic, stochastic, or exploratory models.
  • Ability to work with RF/EOIR countermeasure techniques (platform protection).

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
