Consultant Microbiologist

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced consultant microbiologist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our microbiology team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical microbiology and virology services to our trust and other users in the local area.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing clinical microbiology and infection consultations, liaison, and advice
- Conducting daily infection ward rounds and laboratory bench rounds
- Authorizing reports and participating in infection prevention and control liaison
- Leading antimicrobial stewardship activities and ward rounds as part of the microbiology/infection team
- Participating in on-call microbiology duties

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Full registration with the UK General Medical Council
- MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
- Clinical microbiology/infectious disease experience
