We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant Microbiologist to join our dynamic team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our microbiology team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical microbiology and virology services to our patients and users within the local area.
Main Responsibilities- Provide clinical microbiology and infection consultations, liaison, and advice to healthcare professionals.
- Participate in daily infection ward rounds, laboratory bench rounds, and report authorisation.
- Contribute to infection prevention and control liaison, antimicrobial stewardship activities, and ward rounds as part of the Microbiology/Infection team.
- Participate in on-call Microbiology duties during the post.
- Attend and actively participate in Departmental and other teaching sessions.
- Assist with the teaching of undergraduate medical students and postgraduate junior doctors.

Requirements- Full registration (with a licence to practise) with the UK General Medical Council.
- MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
- Clinical microbiology/infectious disease experience.
