Job Title: Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary alternative education provision in the Salford area. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons and providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for students with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH).



Job Responsibilities:


  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and preventing or de-escalating challenging behaviours
  • Engage and motivate pupils to maintain focus and participate in learning activities
  • Assist with input to learning and provide additional support to students as needed
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to promote a positive learning environment


Requirements:


  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Minimum of 2 professional references
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviours
