Support Worker for Vulnerable Adolescents

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary alternative education provision in the Salford area. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons and providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for students with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH).
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and preventing or de-escalating challenging behaviours
- Engage and motivate pupils to maintain focus and participate in learning activities
- Assist with input to learning and provide additional support to students as needed
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to promote a positive learning environment
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)
- Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
- Minimum of 2 professional references
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Experience supporting children with challenging behaviours
