Job Title: Cost Accountant

Apetito is seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team at our Trowbridge Business Support Centre. As a key member of our finance team, you will work closely with various departments to provide financial oversight and control of key business projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accurate financial management information.
  • Analyse project expenses and provide insightful commentary to support informed decision-making.
  • Manage project contracts to ensure adherence to financial terms and conditions.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial management information to control costs throughout each project.
  • Contribute to rolling forecasts and budgets focused on cash flow accuracy and opportunities/risks to project deliverables.
  • Maximise tax savings and efficiency opportunities.
  • Conduct comprehensive cost-benefit analyses for major projects to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Ensure robust governance and compliance.
  • Balance challenging and critical friend roles while demonstrating empathy and appreciation.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with exceptional communication and relationship skills.
  • Experience of challenging and supporting business teams to achieve best value.
  • Demonstrable ability to focus on what really matters.
  • Adaptability and intellect.
  • Passion for encouraging teamwork with a flair for issue resolution and a thirst to learn.
  • Good financial acumen with experience of delivering against demanding targets.
