About the Role:

Company Overview

West Berkshire Council is seeking a highly skilled Chartered Legal Executive to join our planning team. As a key member of our legal services department, you will provide expert advice on planning and environmental law matters, working closely with the Principal Lawyer - Planning, Regeneration & Property and other dedicated professionals.

This role has been identified as public-facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016; therefore, you must be confident in using English for all spoken aspects of the role.

Job Description

You will work on a wide range of planning and environmental law issues, including advising on planning applications, appeals, and enforcement matters. Your responsibilities will also include drafting legal documents, such as agreements, notices, and correspondence.

Requirements
  • A Chartered Legal Executive qualification or equivalent
  • Proven experience in planning and environmental law
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and legal principles
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
