**Job Summary:**
Falcon Green Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join their team on a Waste to Energy Scheme. As the main point of contact between the client and the main contractor, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with UK health and safety regulations and developing comprehensive health and safety programs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Develop, implement, and manage health and safety programs in accordance with UK health and safety regulations
* Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks
* Create and maintain incident reporting systems, investigate accidents, and provide recommendations for preventing future occurrences
* Design, deliver, and oversee safety training programs for employees at all levels
* Stay up-to-date with UK health and safety standards and ensure staff compliance
* Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure a prompt and effective response to emergencies
* Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with health and safety standards
* Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and certification bodies to maintain and renew necessary accreditations
* Develop, update, and communicate safety policies and procedures to ensure all employees understand and follow safety guidelines
* Investigate and report on all incidents, accidents, and near misses, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented
**Requirements:**
* Construction industry experience is essential
* NEBOSH Construction Diploma is preferred but a General Certificate won't be overlooked
* In-depth knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and regulations
* Very strong communication skills both written and verbal
