Job Description:

As an Electrical Systems Manager, you will lead and manage an engineering team to deliver the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment.

  • Lead and manage an engineering team to deliver the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment.
  • Manage the processes and reviews of technical documentation.
  • Manage associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Provide advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines.
  • Engage with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems.
  • Take a leading role by guiding the team through the systems definition process.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring of more junior team members to ensure the necessary capability and skills development.
Your Skills and Experience:

You will require a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering background.

Engineering Chartership is required (or equivalent experience demonstrated).

Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems is essential.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.

Team leadership experience is necessary.

About the Electrical Power Systems Definition Team:

As a member of the Electrical Power Systems Definition team, you will be working on the UK's next-generation SSN design that incorporates technology from the UK, Australia, and the United States.

You will be part of a team responsible for leading a team of engineers in defining the system elements required to feed into the submarine design and build process, including design documentation, spatial modelling, and build outputs.
