Job Title: Transmission Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Transmission Systems Engineer to join our team at Leonardo Helicopters. As a key member of our Transmissions Systems Team, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of our helicopter transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of transmission systems, including conceptual layouts, detailed 3D models, and 2D drawings.
  • Support the preparation and introduction of product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and modifications.
  • Transmission configuration control and build standard management.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations relevant to assigned activities.
  • Preparation of specifications for vendor-supplied components or assemblies.
  • Support to Repair and Overhaul, Sustain Engineering, and Manufacturing.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, including dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experience with 2D drafting and 3D modeling using CAD software, including CATIA V5.
  • Ability to prepare and generate reports relevant to assigned activities.
  • Motivated and proactive approach with the ability to problem-solve.
  • Previous experience in a mechanical design engineering environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Evidence of working in a regulated environment with knowledge of airworthiness regulations.
  • Knowledge of helicopter mechanical/transmission systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software packages.
