St Andrews Hospice is a leading provider of palliative and end of life care, offering both adult and children's services. With an excellent reputation in the local community and beyond, we reach over 800 patients and their families in North East Lincolnshire and our wider catchment area.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Household Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Household Team, you will work under the supervision of the Household Supervisor, contributing to the excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the Hospice.
Main Responsibilities
- Work as directed by the Household Supervisor to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Carry out specific duties as detailed in the cleaning programme, covering all areas within the Hospice with the exception of the main kitchen.
- Observe all Health & Safety laws and regulations and follow all Hospice policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times, especially when working in patient areas.
- Support colleagues through sharing and assisting in tasks where appropriate.
- Work on a rota basis, including weekends, and be prepared to do additional shifts to cover absences.
Requirements
- Previous experience within a cleaning role.
- Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety issues relevant to a care setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively and possess basic computer skills.
- Understanding of the need for confidentiality in a care setting.
- Qualities: ability to work within a team, demonstrate initiative, build and maintain relationships, and make a positive contribution to the household team and the wider organisation.
