About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Weekend Hygiene Operative to join our Hygiene team at Hilton Foods. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in our production areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct factory cleaning activities in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring food production equipment is maintained in a food-safe and hygienic condition.
  • Collect and manage factory waste streams, segregating and disposing of waste in accordance with Hilton Foods' environmental policy.
  • Rotate between high-risk and low-risk hygiene activities, including waste management and cleaning of food production equipment.
  • Maintain a good standard of hygiene in cleaning areas and equipment, recognizing the importance of listeria management and Good Hygiene Practice (GHP).
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) during interim cleans to ensure the health and safety of staff members and the food safety of products.
  • Support and mentor new team members in areas of expertise.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of hygiene documentation.
  • Use, store, and dispose of chemicals and hygiene equipment safely.
Requirements
  • Experience in high- and low-risk hygiene environments.
  • Chemical handling skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow Cleaning in Place (CIC) procedures, policies, and guidelines.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with colleagues to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Flexibility to rotate and cover holidays/weekends as required.
