About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Equipment Lead to join our team at GSK Ware manufacturing site. As a key member of our Engineering function, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to support the manufacturing, automation, and controls systems for all production operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with a focus on equipment platforms, manufacturing processes, and quality control. You will be responsible for acting as a single point of contact for specific equipment platforms, providing support for manufacturing operations, and developing and maintaining good working relationships with external specialist companies and equipment suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generating technical improvement project proposals, designs, and plans to optimize investment value, including ownership of the delivery of those planned engineering works.
  • Managing complex problem-solving and investigation for major issues that cannot be resolved by operational teams, working with stakeholders from Technical, Quality, and Production teams.
  • Contributing to the engineering Community of Practice and cross-site working, managing projects, and supporting platform development work to deliver platform-aligned activity in support of business aims.
  • Establishing communication and interaction between interdependent platforms at Ware to drive coordination, performance improvement, and standardization.
  • Providing input or advice for the development of Facilities Investment Plan and associated capital budgets.
  • Driving and advocating Machinery Safety for packing equipment platforms, providing technical oversight for Machinery Safety Risk Assessment, Physical Guarding Assessment, and packing engineering Top 3 Machinery Safety Risks/Issues.
About You

We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual who has a strong background in engineering, with a focus on equipment platforms, manufacturing processes, and quality control. You will have a proven ability to drive performance, provide solutions, and work effectively in a complex, highly regulated environment.

You will have a degree-level qualification in engineering, with strong stakeholder-management skills, and experience of working in a highly regulated industry, such as pharmaceuticals or FMCG. You will also have knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and experience of managing complex manufacturing processes and platforms.
