Deputy Nursery Manager Job Overview
Complete Childcare is seeking a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operations of our nursery. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the nursery and providing high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Day-to-Day Management: Assist the Nursery Manager in managing staffing, organisation, and overall nursery operations. Foster a welcoming environment and ensure effective communication among staff and partner organisations.
- Strategic Planning and Development: Participate in strategic planning, evaluation, and development of the nursery. Ensure compliance with EYFS and statutory requirements.
- Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor essential policies and procedures, including safeguarding, equal opportunities, data protection, and confidentiality.
- Flexibility and Time Management: Ensure flexibility in working across different rooms and settings as required. Attend out-of-hours events such as staff meetings, manager's meetings, and parent evenings.
- Safeguarding and Compliance: Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to. Maintain up-to-date records of staff, including DBS checks, qualifications, and training.
Person Specification:
We are seeking a competent practitioner with hands-on experience across different nursery age groups and a solid understanding of nursery regulations, policies, and best practices. You will also exhibit the following personal qualities:
- Interpersonal Understanding: Be sensitive to others' needs and motivations, promoting teamwork and productivity.
- Impact and Influence: Lead with confidence and effectiveness, even in challenging situations.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure processes are followed meticulously.
