About the Job

We are currently seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join our team in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise and leadership skills to a variety of projects with a focus on drainage, kerbs, service ducts, and earthworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of setting out works on-site, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Site Surveys and Reports: Conduct thorough site surveys and prepare detailed site reports, ensuring accurate measurements and alignment, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drainage Systems and Earthworks: Manage and coordinate the installation of drainage systems, kerbs, and service ducts, as well as oversee site clearance and earthworks to ensure timely project progression.
  • Liaison and Communication: Develop effective relationships with site management teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and address any challenges that may arise.
  • Safety Protocols: Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed at all times, prioritizing the well-being of personnel and minimizing risks.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience and Skills: Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer, specifically with drainage, kerbs, service ducts, site clearance, and earthworks; strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Educational Requirements: Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Technical Competencies: Proficient in using setting out equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS systems) and able to work efficiently with technology.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with teams and clients, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
  • Health and Safety: Good understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Travel Requirements: Full UK driving license (as travel to site may be required).
