Embedded Linux Developer Contract

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Linux Developer to join our team on a contract basis in Bristol. As a key member of our Defence organisation, you will be responsible for developing Middleware solutions for advanced missile systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop Middleware solutions for next-generation missile systems
  • Migrate, configure, and secure Linux Operating Systems (Redhat and/or Ubuntu) including Kernel configuration and testing
  • Develop software solutions targeting a range of problems from hardware drivers to web services
  • Collaborate with a talented team to deliver safe, secure, and reliable products to our customers
  • Work on technology at the forefront of European missile system design

Requirements:

  • Experience with C or C++ (at least one is essential), Ada, and/or JavaScript, Shell Scripting languages with a solid background in software engineering
  • Knowledge of software design differences between Real-Time Operating Systems and Hypervisors
  • Comfortable working with a team in a collaborative environment, communicating and contributing to design and implementation decisions
  • Experience in the development of software for Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) hardware
