About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with charity experience to join a long-established and evolving organisation in Edinburgh City centre.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for financial and management accounting, including sales, purchase and nominal ledgers, payroll, treasury, internal reporting, financial systems, stock control and cash handling functions.

They will also be responsible for developing and improving financial controls, processes and systems, and will liaise with external parties such as auditors and the bank, and with trustees and staff of the Association.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial and management accounting, including sales, purchase and nominal ledgers, payroll, treasury, internal reporting, financial systems, stock control and cash handling functions.
  • Developing and improving financial controls, processes and systems.
  • Liaising with external parties such as auditors and the bank, and with trustees and staff of the Association.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be an experienced, qualified accountant who will help to transform the organisation's financial systems, processes and reporting.

They will be comfortable developing and maintaining day-to-day financial controls and processes, and will be technically strong and able to contribute to the organisation's ongoing development of financial systems.
