Compliance Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join our team at deverellsmith. As a leading provider of new-build family homes for rent in the UK, we require a professional who can develop and implement comprehensive compliance policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to shareholder requirements.
  • Monitor health and safety regulations and establish corresponding policies for the business.
  • Ensure compliance with gas safety regulations, maintain records, and conduct regular inspections of gas appliances and installations.
  • Oversee block management compliance, ensuring adherence to statutory obligations and best practice guidelines.
  • Manage and review Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), ensuring all fire safety standards are met and necessary improvements are promptly implemented.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters, fostering a culture of compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance violations or issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Monitor changes in real estate laws and regulations, updating practices to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure that properties meet established quality and safety standards through regular audits.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in compliance management, preferably in the real estate sector.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, gas safety regulations, and fire safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide guidance and training to employees.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve compliance violations or issues.
