Interim Head of Civil Litigation Opportunity

Venn Group is pleased to be recruiting for an experienced Interim Head of Civil Litigation to join a Public Sector Organisation in the Midlands area.

This assignment will be for an initial period of 6 months with a strong likelihood of extension thereafter. The ideal candidate will work full time on a hybrid working basis.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within Local Government and a broad working understanding of Civil Litigation as well as previous management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead two Legal teams, comprising around 20 Lawyers, specialising in Civil Litigation and PI respectively
  • Oversee a broad range of Dispute Resolution work in areas of Finance, Contract, Revenues, and Property Disputes
  • Act as a key advisor for maintained Schools and external Partners/external Public Bodies in Civil claims
  • Handle injury and loss/property damage claim work in the personal injury team
  • Provide advice and support on Judicial Review against the Home Office, regarding the creation and suitability of contingency hotels for persons seeking Asylum
  • Redesign internal services to bring debt enforcement work in-house
  • Manage harassment claims under the new Intermediate claims track, including its new fixed costs regime

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Interim Head of Civil Litigation to join a Public Sector Organisation in the Midlands area.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading Legal teams and a broad working understanding of Civil Litigation.
