Mechanical Engineer for Plant Maintenance

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at O-I. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment, performing routine inspections and maintenance tasks, and identifying areas for improvement.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environments around the site. The ideal candidate will have experience working with hand and power tools, including grinders, drill presses, calipers, micrometers, and other equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and provide reports as required

Requirements

  • Time-served in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • FLT licence (training provided)
  • IPAF certification
